I have a question regarding indexes, I have a remote view that I included in a dbc file. Everytime I want to access that remote view in a form, I place the following command in the load event

Open database dbcname
use remoteviewname in 0 alias aliasname
index on field1 tag indexname

The question is, does the third line creates a permanent index in the base table?

Does this also apply to sqlpassthrough?
