Not quite sure exactly what fixed the problem, and it might have been a variety of problems. But the final fix was changing out the memory on the Novell file server and then copying over a new exe. I had copied over a new exe and dlls several times before, but the memory problem must have continually corrupted the exe.

Before the final fix we also gave her a new PC, reimaged her hard drive, had an electrician come and give her a new power supply (or something like that but in electrician terms), had the network people check her drop, line, card, settings, router, and had the novell login script changed to capture her printer.
