Hi Mike,

>>If he's not a great leader then Israel should put him on a boat in the Mediterranian and tell him to go find another place to live.
>
>I agree to that. Better yet, why were they even dealing with him in the first place? Seems like Israel has been barking up the wrong tree the whole time.

Boy, I really do not know the answer to that question... I suppose they're dealing with him because he ostensibly is the leader?? Dunno.. At this point in time Mr. Arafat looks to be egging the Israelis on to kill him. I hope they put him on a ship in the Mediterranian. Apparently Morocco has agreed to take him but I doubt he'll leave willinglig. More likely commit suicide so the Israelis can be blamed.. *shrug* Good question though. What are your thoughts??

>
>>you suggested he really wasn't the great leader he's portrayed to be. I disagree.
>
>Ok, then prove he actually has control over there. I'm not convinced he, or anyone person does. The conditions for such a structure do not exist in the West Bank. Its just street gangs roaming around beating people up as far a I can tell.

Wel,, he did control all of the goings-on over there at one point. Is he still at that point of control? I don't think he is. I think there's more to the street gangs. Everything is controlled there. The press, education, etc.. ALl ultimately by the PLO. What I can't figure out is why the press hasn't asked him why he hasn't spent the billions he's received on infrastructure, etc...

>
>It would also be intersting to find out how he really came into "power". Supposedly he won an election. I've been under the impression that he's self appointed.

Elected. Somewhere around 85%. Probably a lot of it rigged. He's apparently way past the time for the next elections so I guess he's also self appointed now...

>
>>Really?? You're suggesting that the US is currently in a pre-1900's level??? How is that? <g>
>
>Nope. I said they won't take us OUT of the 1900's.

I relly think I'd disagree. The US is still driving the economic & cultural engine of this world - some of which I do not like, but regardless it is doing it. Who would you suggest is now leading here??

>
>>You're not confusing Minnesota with the US are you now?? *GD&RVVF*
>
>Strong words coming from someone in Utah *bfg*

LOL!!!

Point well taken. Of course I'm originally from Southern California so I have a little more going for me (I think <bg>)

Some folks here still wear courderoy.. <g>

>
>>I have zero hope in humanity.
>
>Thats too bad. Refresh my memory, which one of us supposedly takes the easy way out?

Not really too bad Mike. Realistic. Don't misunderstand.. I think that individuals can really soar but as an aggregate, nope.. Mankind has proven that it cannot govern itself.

I think I'm not taking the easy way as almost this entire world would say I'm going the wrong way. I respectfully disagree and am content to hold my position.

>
>>I have no despair here Mike.
>
>Perhaps you don't, but what about the young men on the front lines knowing that they're going to die for no reason?

It's tough, no doubt. However, each individual can have "a hope that transcends you and me", as the song goes. <g> I am quite upset over these your people who blow themselves up for no reason. What a waste... Look, all war is an absolute waste. Every bit of it! Still, that is the way of this word. I do not like it nor do I think it's the right way but it is the way this world works.

>
>>I find myself thrilled to think that soon all of this will be set right.
>
>So, being set right means bringing hope to all those who have already died in despair? Yeah... sure, Doug.

No.. Bringing in hope for all Mike.
Best,
