Yes, I noticed this a while ago. This problem can be quite insidious. Basically, the syntax-highlighter works line-by-line.
It also works (or doesn't, depending on the point of view!) the other way:
? 4;
Syntax-highlighting will mark "* 5" as a comment, but it will be executed correctly (showing "20").
