Andi,

I use Client Access ODBC Driver (32-bit) version 0.00.0000 from IBM, file name CWBODBC.DLL.
The AS400 will require software as well. It works the same as connecting to any remote datasource. This approach is fine as long as the data size being transfered to the pc is small. You'll find the AS400 query engine runs well but the data transfer slooowww.

If your AS400 is presently being accessed via PC's with some type of terminal emulator then the emulator software most likely has an ODBC driver. I'm familiar with IBM's Client Access and Netsoft's AS400 router. Both have ODBC drivers. Check your ODBC administrator, you may have one loaded already.

HTH,
Mike
