Wow. Sounds exciting. I have downloaded Forte 1 and updated to Forte 2, the free community version, but I have not done anything with it yet. Linux is really catching on. AOL is going to a completely Linux environment as is Oracle. Both are competitors of Microsoft and are worried about Micorsoft ever growing internet centric OS. There are so many choices. I am a small business as are all my clients, so I have to keep things as simple as the complexities of a situation allow. I am going to keep an eye on .net because it might still help me in the future, after Microsoft has everything work out.

I'm excited about having an enterprise class database like postgress on a linux box that work so well inside a Window Network, especially a VFP client. I must admit that when I do a column by column cost comparison of a Window Network and a Linux Network that Linux offers a considerable cost savings while sacraficing little or nothing in feature, fuctionality, etc.
AS a taxing authority your in a business without any competition. The ordinary business must worry about microsoft dominance of the desktop OS and internet browse, both of which can be brought to bear agaist a competitor's software.
