Your right. Competition in this area is intense and anyone can buy amazing
accounting power at drit cheap prices. Also, there seem to be a trend towards seeking solution that are internet based especially payroll. I may end up making the app available as shareware, maybe post it on some of the shareware site. Anyway, I need to get it finished/debugged/tested/etc first.

Abilene is a small town, about 110,000 folks. It has been said there are more churches here per square block than anywhere ease in the country. It has three Private School all Church base, Abilene Christain University which is Church of Christ, Harding Simons University which is Southern Baptist, and McMurry University with is Methodist. You would not find a more tradition group of folks anywhere ease in the country. The community is tight nit and I feel I would have a hard time selling Linux here. Abilene is pretty much Windows Country and the Community is control by its native sons. If I sold a linux solution, I would want to be close enough to it so I could support it without a lot of travel.

The internet seem like the perfect answer for my situation. I can delivery a product without any shipping cost and without alot of paperwork. Individuals seeking my product would be responsible for accessing my web site and downloading my app. Installshield take care of all the installation for me. There should be very little overhead and about everything that come in would go right to the bottom line, after recovering the fixed cost of development/setup.

If it goes I could do some marketing to drive more sale, etc. The application is developed in VFP which is an all in one package. It's ideal for an accounting application because of its speed and rich programming feature that allow my app to do some really complicated thing and make it look easy. I enjoy working with VFP and the web.
