>Sounds like a great place to have fund accounting, membership/contact manager tools. Every church needs to track money and members. If it's cheap enough they'll bite. XP requires lots of CPU - Linux runs on hand me downs. The same hand me downs the church gets from it's members.

Excellent points, John!
Add to that donation sollicitation/accounting functions with maillist, matching funds, etc., connected to church membership rolls. Inventory and AR functions (sales of tapes, educational materials, promotional shirts, cups, etc...)
Linux allows even very small churches to have networks with one or more servers... or ... several workstations with the server also serving as a workstation - the configuration of most home networks - which allows all workstations to access the web through a single phone, DSL or cable connection.
