From what I know of the CLR (I am not messing with VB.NET at all, I'm doing C#), the string stuff has been totally re-done. I was breaking and assembling streams (of strings) at break-neck speed. I haven't done any tests with my C# code vs VFP, but that might be worth a test. I would think that what works fast in VB.NET would = C# since it's really the IL in the CLR that is running.

Of course, I have been learning C# for about 4 weeks now, so whatever I do would probably stink anyway. :)
