When Java was released it was supposed to create this new way to create distributed apps through the browser. Thats a bit differnt than the Web Service + Rich UI models that Gartner is talking about.
I see, but I was responding to your comment that Java "HAD TO BE CONNECTED" to a server somehow, which isn't true. :)
