As a matter of fact, Microsoft's new policy is to no longer retire exams but rather to "version" the certifications. In other words, an NT4 MCSE, a Win2K MCSE, etc. This also applies to the MCSD/Visual Studio exams. You would become an MCSD VS6 or an MCSD .Net.
