Donald,
Is the table small enough that you can copy it to a temp location? If so you can tweak the header using the low level file I/O functions and remove reference to the memo file, and then do your selects against the copy.
>I wrote a program that ties to another program that uses dBase III tables. I used Visual Foxpro to extract the data that I needed faster, by using SQL-Selects. Now the other product has upgraded their tables to dBase IV and I can no longer use my selects. To do a select I now have to copy the table to another directory, convert the memo files, open the tables, and do my selects. The enduser will not wait around for this. Does anyone, please, know if there is a way to either open the dBase IV table ignoring the memo files, or doing a select directly from the table without actually opening it????
