It certainly looks suspiciously like a virus, but I couldn't find relevant information on the antivirus sites. Perhaps when you are back home, and can see the subject, you should search on sites like
www.nai.com, or
www.cai.com. There are others, too, of course, but these are the ones I remember right now.
