You should be able to do the copy with just the INSERT..SELECT. Of course, you'll have to list the explicit columns.

INSERT INTO mytable (
c1,
c2,
c3)
SELECT
c1,
@newC2,
c3
FROM
mytable
WHERE
c2 = somevalue
