My computer has gotten a virus twice in the last couple of months. In both cases I noticed activity on my hard drive. By the time I was able to shut down my system and reboot, the virus had written over 6000 files with an .eml extension. The .eml files had different names but they were alway the same size 78K, I think. Also, after the virus attacted, I got numerous C5 error. Internet explorer would only work in safe mode. I could not Ctrl+Alt+Del to veiw/end processes because the OS kept returning me to the desktop. The virus my have used my IIS 4.0 web server and/or outlook express to execute its procedures. In both cases I was forced to restore my system from a backup. Does anyone know the name of this virus? It might be a good idea to have a visus program scan my system. Could you recommend one that would find most current viruses.
