How can I allow users to add comments greater than 4,000 characters in VFP. I have tried using SQL pass-through but receive the Oracle error message ORA-01704: string literal too long. I have also tried this with a remote view with no success. I am using VFP 6 sp 3 and Oracle 8.1.5 and the Oracle ODBC driver.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I have been successful copy the contents to a file and than using the oracle procedure dbms_lob.loadfromfile but that requires creating the file on the Oracle server. Possible for local users but difficult for remote users. Oracle's CLOB limit is 4GB.
