Have you tried updateable (sp?) remote views?

Also, when you move from VFP to SQL Server, you have to change your habits a bit. If you are used to browsing entire tables in a grid, you will find that this is not a good thing to do with a back-end database. You need to query only for the records you actually need. Parameterized views will help with this.
