One other solution and this is a strange one. I've only seen it happen it DOS. I had a similar erroneous error and the syntax was fine. I checked and re-checked the code and after three days, I finally asked for tech support. He too was also stumped but finally suggested that I delete out the offending line and then re-type and re-compile. It worked.
