I'm primarily in HO. I would do N, more layout in the space I have, if only they made more Reading protoype equipment available. But, until then, I will stick with HO. More room for DCC decoders and sound. Living where I do, I will be modeling the Reading, mid-1950's era. In my limited space, I plan to do the line that runs near my house, formerly the East Penn branch of the Reading, now Norfolk Southern's main line from New Jersey to Harrisburg.
Sounds like you had one heck of a layout there. Got any pictures?

I had a couple of nice train tables and then we moved and I had to get rid of them. One was 16’ x 20’ in N gauge. No one believed me until a father from work came to visit with his son! Five locos pulling 108 cars up a three level layout and 3% grade! They could not believe it. What a sight! It was based upon Cajon Pass in the Mojave Desert in California. The yard was able to hold 400 cars, and had a working turntable. I drank a lot of Spaten building that baby!
