"Unkown COM Status" error knocked me out for about 3 days. I had a fully functional asp.net\VFP web service app nearly complete, then it raised its ugly head. I ended up having to reinstall both the SOAP Toolkit and VS.net on two machines to get it all working again. Its now stable, but I would recommned using a COM object instead of a web service if you don't need access from outside clients. Working through COM is just as easy as using a web service in asp.net, just set a reference and work like the object was local.

Also, in an article in FoxPro Advisor, they recommned just replacing the SOAP Toolkit. So try that first.
