>I am attempting to import data from various excel spreadsheet and convert them into .dbf files. I am trying to do this outside of the IMPORT WIZARD because this import procedure is needing to be a part of the actual form - so that when the enduser selects that file to be converted, it will place it into the new .dbf file as needed.

However, there are two fields that I need to be reflected as DATE fields. Is there a command string that I could use to IMPORT the excel file into a dbf as I see it (if I were to open it up through Excel)?

You can use APPEND FROM, if you know the expected structure, and create it first.

Otherwise, exporting from Excel (to dBASE III format) gives neater results than importing from VFP.

Use automation to do this automatically.
