>I have a Foxpro 2.6 application run on an NT Server. The application uses a lot of file handles but is experiencing some wierd problems that may be related to not enough file handles. How does NT Server use File Handles - is from Config.SYS. How does Win 2000 work with File Handles

Are the files on NT Server, or are you running the app on NT Server?

Win2K Server has a registry entry that controls the maximum number of simultaneously open resources - files opened and printers connected by client stations. I suspect that there's an equivalent registry entry on WinNT, but don't know it. AFA file handles opened locally, there's no equivalent entry to those in the DOS CONFIG.SYS - the Win16 interface isn't using the same logic to control open files as DOS did via FILES=. The CONFIG.NT (or the custom CONFIG file associated with the app via it's PIF file) will take a FILES= statement.

CONFIG.NT is not located in the root of the boot drive; I'd recommend creating a custom CONFIG file for the problem app and associating via the PIF.
