Jim, you have my full support in this matter and you deserve positive reactions, of course! Your suggestions are all really constructive. Anyone who doesn't recognize the constructiveness of your critic, is indeed not reading well.

Oh yeah, there's another experience I recently had.. I spent hours on a bug. Finally I googled and found some bugreport on the MS site, exactly describing the bug. In that report MS stated that it 'confirmed this to be a bug'. That report was dated somewhere in the year 1999, perhaps 2000, certainly not later. The bug is still omnipresent in VFP...seven. I must say that this really irritated me, for it wasn't the first time.

One more thing: Professionals like you and me drive VFP to the limits. I think we have to, because the result must be of professional quality. I dare to state that I am confronted with bugs each week, if not each day! And each time it takes hours to find a workaround. Other people might say "well then.. find another language.. try Delphi for instance". But I don't expect people from MS to say that. They should feel sorry with us and do exactly what we do when one of our customers reports a bug: Take it seriously and do whatever they can (work hard!) to solve the bug.
Groet,
Peter de Valença

If there’s no willingness to moderate for the sake of good debate, then I have no willingness to debate at all.
