Long long ago Mike, way before your time, a company called "Fox Software" owned and sold FoxPro (for DOS, Windows, MAC, UNIX).
It was their policy to keep its product owners fully aware of bugs that were reported for the products - a list was available for review at any time.
Their "stupidity" in this regard earned them more sales, not less. In fact they grew so phenomenally that MS bought them!!!
So I think that you are dead wrong on this, and most especially so if you consider the present situation with VFP, where our guru population pretty much all sings the tune that VFP "is a niche product".
You just might be surprised if you took the chance and let your users know of the problems that exist in the software that you supply to them.
But I guess you'll never know.
