I have not attempted to use the Foxpro Resource file for storing user's column order preferences.

Instead I simply store them in a file that I have for each user on their local drive.

Each column order is given a variable e.g. ColLastName, ColFirstName etc. The user gets their preferred column order by double clicking on the column header which moves it to the first column (this is coded into the grid). The Column Order Variables are then stored in their User File to give them that order when they go back in.
