I have an example app that uses VFP7 as a front-end client to connect to a postgres back-end server. It could be used as a starting point to see how VFP7 might be used to connect to MySQL. All you would need to do is modify the SQL pass-through string so it was in a MySQL syntax. It can be download at:

The web site is currently down for backup and I'm upgrading the postgres database server to version 7.1, so the site will be down until this is finished. However, you might take a look at the app when the site is back up. The download can be found under option 21.
