Can someone explain to me the "SQL WHERE clause includes" section of the View Designer's Update Criteria tab/page.

I have several 'nested' views and I'm trying to use the final view as a grid source on a form and I'm coming up with "Update Conflict" errors when trying to add new records to the grid (i.e. views and original tables).

That whole page (Update Criteria) is a bit confusing to me and my documentation doesn't explain much about it or views for that matter.

I have a number of views that 'nest' to create the final necessary one (long story I won't go into). View1 consists of some tables, View2 consists of View1 linked to some tables, View3 consists of View2 linked to some tables and View4, my final view, is View3 + some tables. There is a unique key field in my master table that links all of these together.

This of course is making for interesting updates, but I've almost got this done and am convinced it can work. My edits work fine, but when I add a record to my original table via the grid (done in the Click Method of my Add button) and requery the subsequent views, I'm getting the "Update Conflict" error and I'm not sure where to look to fix this. I've double checked my original keys and there are no duplicates. All else seem ok. Any clues???

MTIA,

Mandy
