Is it possible that SCX and/or VCX files corrupted?
I also suspect that this problem might be related to "SET BLOCKSIZE" command. Looks like memof ields are read incorrectly in VFP7. Did you tried binary search in FPT files (SCT or VCT) for weird characters that you see?
