Is there a way to construct a composite control which will allow me access to control properties at development time? I am coming from a VFP background where you drop a control onto a form and modify it's properties.

A composite control does not seem to have any accessable properties after it is dropped on the page. I have been modifying them via the Page.Init() method, but I am looking for an encapsulated solution.
