>We have a small system that is provided to users as they join the company [as sales reps]. They download the system from the web and install locally. Periodically we are correcting bugs and enhancing the system. Therefore, we need the new users to be able to install a complete system [VFP runtime, dbfs, exe, etc.] and allow current users to just update the exe file. I am still using VFP 6 and am looking for an install system that can either ask the user what they want [new system, update existing system] or determine what they need AND then install the appropriate set of files.

I didn't see where Inno had this capability and just wanted to know if InstallShield or Wise would be best for working with VFP 6 and eventually VFP 7. And also, what version Professional or Standard of these packages.

Hi Doug,

You would probably want to build two separate installs, simply to save on download time for users that already have the runtime, etc. installed. We use Stonefield Database Toolkit to create our tables and update structures as needed.
