Thanks. The information about SqlSetProp() will be usefull, but its not really what I'm after.

I'm looking for documentation (electronic or print) that defines/describes the structure, syntax and functionality of data source name (DSN) files as they apply to Sql Server.

While I have an immediate need for this documentation, I'm looking for something that goes beyond my current problem... I want to know how and why these things work.
