Visual FoxPro received a mention in the cover article of the latest "XML & Web Services" magazine. This long, in depth article (covering pages 18 - 27) is written by Stuart Johnson in the April/May 2002 issue of the magazine.
In it he writes "...Microsoft's Visual FoxPro 7.0 supports some XML capabilities. Although VFP does not store data internally as XML, it does provide local cursor support for XML. Additionally, VFP 7.0 also includes the Microsoft SOAP 2.0 Toolkit, enabling developers to write XML Web services directly from inside VFP's IDE, which communicate using SOAP and Web Services Description Language (WSDL)."
For those who do not get this magazine, you can see the article on-line at

Analysis: VFP mentioned with XML -- can't hurt.
Noting that Ken Levy came from an XML startup to work at MSFT, I think you're seeing some of those prior contacts helping VFP. I doubt very seriously that you would see this mention if RG was still pushing the product...
