You might try leaving the user name and password blank in the ODBC driver. This should bring up an ODBC login when the user tries to make the connection. The user would then need to enter his user name and password. Of course the administrator of the MySQL database should have the user name and password setup with appropriate privileges, and the security for the table should be set to require logins.
