Andrus,

It doesn't make sense that cacheing would be responsible for this.
Have you check the Task List of W2K to see if the application is STILL listed there after SHUTDOWN? I have seen this happen, and assume that any files that you have not explicitly closed would remain open under such conditions.

Are you explicitly closing the tables, or are you leaving that to VFP to handle at shutdown?
