Hello Chris
ok easy answer
think of it this way
win98 = old chevy truck
win2k = Corvette
the Corvette driver (win2k) alway does the speed limit on the network. The old chevy truck (Win98) driver always goes as fast as he can
basicly win98 is a network hog put 100 win98 pcs on a network and every pc runs slow put 150 win2k pcs on a network and they all work ok

>It's only one PC, the Win2K machine replaced the other one. They're both on the network, but in both cases VFP was installed (only) to the local HD. Both were running Mere Mortals (also upgraded to 7.0 with the new machine) off a network drive. But it doesn't 'feel' like a network problem. It seems like something running in VFP's background. I suspect performance won't change if I drop off the network, but then I can't post that answer. ;)
