I do not use MM but do use VMP. The report area of VMP to me is very slow so I built my own which easily integrated into VMP. So I am just advising you to not use reports as a deciding factor. :)

I have looked around and have narrowed it down to the Mere Mortals Framework (seems strongest for developing business objects) and Visual MaxFrame Professional (seems strongest for user interface objects). I am leaning a little more towards Mere Mortals (business objects are important), but it appears not to include a sophisticated report interface would allows users to specify selection criteria (also important).
