>>>Microsoft has no plans for any additional updates of Visual FoxPro 7.0 such as a SP2 (Service Pack 2). SP1 for VFP 7.0 can be downloaded from
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/downloads/updates.asp. There will be an online web survey for Visual FoxPro coming in about a week. More news will be announced in the keynote session at the EssentialFox (

>>Gulp. Such as ... VFP 8.0? Am I reading your meaning correctly, Ken? Is this supposed to be good news? Perhaps a little clarification is in order.

>As the message says, there are no plans for any updates to version 7.0 like another service pack. It make no reference to the next "version" of VFP which the Fox team at Microsoft is and has been actively working on. Some people have indicated that they are waiting for an SP2 for VFP7 before upgrading, so I thought I would let people know there is no SP2 planned and they should not wait to upgrade.
To be perfectly honest, I did not understand the meaning of your very terse announcement, and I was quite alarmed by it. I didn't sleep well. I had these bizarre dreams of clay-mation figures, and now I can't quite remember them. This morning I looked again, and I was comforted to see that you are still talking about Toledo like it's something that's going to happen, which put me at ease (relatively speaking). Thanks for the further assurances.
Now I can comfortably wait until VFP 8.0 before I upgrade from VFP 6.0, and skip the hassle of upgrading to VFP 7.0. Haha. Just kidding, Ken. :-))
