I disagree with the premise that software is more buggy. In fact, I think one can cite examples that show that software is less buggy. Using Windows as an example. NT, 2000 and XP require rebooting perhaps every few months if installed correctly. With Win95 reboots were perhaps daily or certainly weekly events.
