Hi!

Why you think that "shadow" part of the table are redundant colours? They're different from other colours just because they're quite different. For example, try to find RGB(88,116,60) colour in the table generated by first part of the code.

There is no such colour because it have less contrast then others in the first part of table. And usually these colours used by users in the interface because they cause less tiring for eyes.
