I've seen VFP tables get locked somehow on NT 4.0 Servers. I suspect that bad network communication from a workstation is the culprit. In my experience, sometimes turning off all PCs that had been working on the application finally got it released. In one or two examnples, it took a reboot of the NT 4.0 Server. :(

>Thanks for your replies. No open tables in the current session. Trying to ERASE from within VFP and delete from OS. Neither worke. All sessions are closed. People are logged off the server. Nothing open in Task Manager. No Virus software running. No way to be quaranteened. I understand all the steps, so no big deal about questioning what I have done. All temp files are deleted from the server, but the file is still locked. :(

>>NO, I'm sorry. I meant any open tables in YOUR CURRENT SESSION. Or did you mean that what you have checked includes your own open workareas when you are trying to delete the file? Are you trying to delete it from WITHIN VFP?
>>
>>If you are trying to delete from the OS and not within VFP, did you check the sessions and make sure all sessions are closed (no active connections)? Have you had all of the users log out and THEN AFTER THAT checked what sessions (if any) are open under the shared folder on the server? Close any sessions left open and then try to delete the file.

>>Also, what virus scanner are you running? Are you also sure that it is not quaranteened? I'm just stepping through typical troubleshooting steps here so I'm sorry if I keep covering stuff you have already checked.
>>
>>Delete all files in the temp file (that are not required by the OS) on the server too to ensure a copy of it is not open in the temp file location which could prohibit you from deleting the original.
