All of a sudden IE5.5 seems to be ignoring the background colors of browsed pages. This is particularly bad on the universal thread pages because the dropdown can't be read. It is almost as if the background is transparent.

In IE5 setup options are to use windows colors and the boxes under accessability are all unchecked. Even the foxnews background is white.
