1) how do you come to the conclusion that the integrity is gone?
2) is the application on a LAN or stand-alone?
3) how many concurrent users if LAN?
4) which index(es) get crapped and what is each of their definitions?
5) is this VFP or FPD or VFW, and what version/SP?
6) is the index in question a structural .CDX, another .CDX, or a .IDX?

As for PACKing, a re-index automatically occurs when you do that. It has to.
