Here's the fix:
Finally, in desparation, I uninstalled VFP7. Then when I tried to open the project under VFP5, it said it couldn't find the 'AppHook.vcx' project hook class. I removed it from the project, and PRESTO! - everything went back to working.
I then reinstalled VFP7, and it still works.
I remember that when I first opened the project in VFP7, it asked if I wanted to add the 'AppHook' class, and not knowing any better, I answered Yes.
Next time I will check out the class BEFORE I let VFP7 automatically add a class to ANYTHING!

Thanks for your time.

Dennis
