Using Access in the same way as Word for API access doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Whatever data access logic your trying to abstract from Acess can be achieved more efficently by creating a business object (i.e. COM server, XML Web Server) with the appropriate interface. To do this, you'll need VFP, VB, C++ or .NET or any language that can be compiled to a DLL. Access, being an end users tool does not support advanced features like inheritenace and DLL creation.
