There isn't a directory chosen in the connection string, it creates the database and tables in whatever directory is returned by typing "CD" in the command window. In pathname nomenclature, ".\" indicates the current directory, which is probably somewhere in the Program Files dir if you installed and ran VFP with the defaults.
