I don't think the costs or reasons for war are questioned at all here. Just the Canadian stereotype. In fact, I was gonna respond to Evan's comment:

If I were Canadian, I'd actually be more interested in staying honest. How much good do American "elite defensive forces" actually do? Due to teh very nature of such programs, I don't think anyone really knows the good or the bad that these forces do. What we do know is that it opens the door for consipriacy theories, corruption, cover ups, and other crap to throw at the fan.
