I would appreciate any thoughts on the following.

I am using VFP 7, and have been working through CodeMine 7 for a couple of months. I never used CodeMine 6.x. I will be developing a major project later this year with the help of either CodeMine or another framework.

Although I have "played" with VFP for several years, it is only within the last several months that I have used it exclusively (I used fpw 2.6a as well as the Mac and DOS versions for many years - along with other SoftClassic products which worked with these versions of FoxPro). My prior positive experience with SoftClassics is what naturally lead me to CodeMine 7.

I guess like most, it just took a few long days/weeks/months to kind of get use to the VFP way of doing things (although using visual design/properties wasn't entirely new to me, as I had also used Clarion TopSpeed in the past). I just wish I had moved to VFP sooner, but I guess starting right out of the gate with VFP 7 has it benefits.

This brings me to my questions about CodeMine 7. I have read through the CodeMine 6 users manual at least twice to familarize myself, and have worked through the tutorial section about 3 times. I have pretty much tore the sample tutorial code apart to learn all the ends-outs of what is going on, as well as designing my own screens, etc.

I am using the new CodeMine 7 html help in addition to the printed 6 docuement. And I guess that is where the problem is - as a new user of CodeMine 7 who never used CodeMine 6 - its hard for me to understand what the difference is between CodeMine 6 and 7 - and what I should not be paying attention to in the CodeMine 6 manual, and what I should be paying special attention to in the CodeMine 7 help.

Also, I just don't find much "sample" code in the new things which are included in the new CodeMine 7 help. In all honestly, I don't have a clue what kind of code would go in some of the properties unless I could see some sample code. In thinking about it, there really isn't a lot of sample code in the CodeMine 6 documents either. In working through the tutorials, when I found and viewed sample code - it was kind of obvious what was happening and fairly easy to understand.

Does anyone else experience this problem?

And finally, it seems like CodeMine 7 never crashes - which is great. In real life end user applications - are you finding that CodeMine developed applications are that stable (obviousely assuming no bad developer code)? I realize that you will probably be answering this from CodeMine 6 perspective since CodeMine 7 is not finished. The one error I did find in CodeMine 7 had already been found and fixed when I emailed Dave at SoftClassics about it.

So far, I am pretty happy with CodeMine 7. In all fairness to CodeMine, I think most of the problems I have had with it were more related to me not just being completely 100% proficient in VFP 7 as of yet.

I am also getting ready to start testing Mere Mortals this weekend (not because of unhapiness with CodeMine 7, but before I spend the next year developing a big project I prefer to see how some things are done with another good framework).

Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. Sorry for the wordy questions.
