I haven't deleted my foxuser.dbf. I will try that now. When it happens I have a project opened. I am switching between the command window and a simple program file. I'm not even using forms, menus, class libraries or anything when it happens. I'm not sure if it would happen if I left it alone as I'm always using it. I also thought it may have something to do with codepages ever since I noticed that VFP7 uses a "MODIFY COMMAND ... AS 1252", but 1252 is the correct codepage to be using.

>I don't have any idea whether it will help, but you didn't say whether or not you deleted your foxuser.dbf file...

>>No, it's definately a mapping issue. When it switches, all my previous commands are in the command window. So I can go up and highlight the '? set("exact")' line, but when I try to type it, I can't because the keys are remapped. It's like everything in VFP is normal, except when I type something.
