I am totally confused.
'Packing' is not something a Mysql Server does. Once you delete a record, its gone. Nothing to pack.

What is Readonly - Did you check your user
permissions to the table /database ? ?

Read only is not an attribute. on the server(maybe your cursor is read only) are you packing a sql cursor ?

The Mysql Server has permissions, but they are or allow for updates, or not allow a user to drop the table etc, allow select statements etc.
