Well, as one of them (West Point '66) I can add that I would not simply lump all non-com's into a "group" any more than I would officers. I served with many fine enlisted folks and with some that were the dregs of the earth. I would put our battalion SGT MAJOR in the last group. (For those of you who do not know, he was the highest ranking enlisted man in the battalion)

Along with an E-6 being courtmartialed for refusing to leave the base camp and join his unit in the field.

You may be surprised, as I was, of the actual cross section of America that makes it through one of the military academies. You get all kinds, and, in spite of the 4 years of training and indoctrination, you wind up with all kinds of officers.

I have witnessed cowardice and all sorts of unethical behavior from ALL ranks.

So to say.... hmmmph.. officers, they are all (fill in the blanks) is to be misinformed at best.

Thanks,

Ken
